The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has recognized the efforts of the Quezon City Public Affairs and Information Services Department (PAISD) that informs and educates the city’s electorate through its online public affairs newscast Hatol ng Bayan.
Comelec spokesman James Jimenez said “We have here in QC a public information channel on Facebook (Quezon City Public Affairs Department page), and it’s really important nowadays because many people are using it. Mabuhay po kayo”.
The groundbreaking newscast is the first live webcast program in Metro Manila initiated by a local government unit that features local candidates, poll officials, and clean and orderly elections advocates.
It aims to inform and introduce to the Quezon City residents the background and objectives of the candidates running for councilor, vice mayor, mayor, and congressional representative.
Residents may watch QC Hatol ng Bayan episodes from Monday to Friday every 10 am 2 pm and 6 pm in the Quezon City Public Affairs Department Facebook page.
The Public Affairs and Information Services Office Department is the legally mandated information agency and lead media service unit of the Quezon City government.
