LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte – The Ilocos Norte Tourism Office (INTO) is offering free Holy Week tour to the key pilgrimage sites and tourists’ landmarks in the province on April 18-20, according to tourism officer Xavier Ruiz.
Ruiz said the three-day free tour is exclusive on the free ride going to the tourist destinations in Ilocos Norte.
However, entrance fees, meals, and the like are not included in the service.
“We have come up with this free Holy Week tour to cater the influx of tourists and visitors,” he said.
The free tour will kick off on Maundy Thursday through a southbound tour of Ilocos Norte tour visiting the following places: Malacañang of the North, Paoay Sand Dunes, UNESCO World Heritage Site St. Agustine Paoay Church, Ferdinand E. Marcos (FEM) Presidential Center, La Milagrosa Cove, Minor Basilica of Badoc, La Virgen Milagrosa Shrine, and Luna Shrine.
On Good Friday, April 19, the tour will resume going to the eastern part of the province to visit the Sta. Monica Church, Dingras Church, Balay Dingras, Escoda Shrine, and Nueva Era Eco-Cultural Park.
Meanwhile on Black Saturday, April 20, the tour will move to the northern part of Ilocos Norte visiting the Bacarra Church, Pasuquin Mangroves, Cape Bojeador Lighthouse, Kapurpurawan Rock Formation, Bangui Windfarm, Saud Municipal Beach Park, and Patapat Viaduct.
Ruiz added that the program was initiated by Governor Imee R. Marcos to boost the tourist arrivals in the province, and to offer an inexpensive vacation to visitors.
Interested participants may avail of reservations by going directly to the tourist center in La Tabacalera in Laoag City.
