Work at the City Government of Manila will be suspended on Holy Wednesday.
The declaration of work suspension on April 17 covers all departments, offices, and bureaus in the local government, a memorandum signed by Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada last Thursday read.
Estrada said this was to give their personnel ample time to prepare for the Holy Week.
Earlier, Malacanang announced Maundy Thursday and Good Friday on Apr. 18 and Apr. 19, respectively, as regular holidays.
Black Saturday on April 20 is a special non-working holiday.
