The camp of Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada hit back at former Vice Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso over rumors that the city chief executive was already suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

A post in the Facebook page of Gising Maynila claimed that Estrada, who is turning 82 this month, has become more forgetful.

Furthermore, it said that Estrada’s “open secret” health condition has worried officials and personnel at the Manila City Hall as his condition could affect the programs and projects needing his approval.

However, Atty. Ericson “Jojo” Alcovendaz, Manila city administrator and spokesperson, returned the issue back to Domagoso, who was Estrada’s former vice mayor, but is now his closest rival in the 2019 mayoral race.

In a statement, he reminded about the kind words and commendation of Moreno to Estrada when they were still in good terms from 2013 to 2016.

According to Alcovendaz, this included Moreno recognizing the Estrada administration’s work to settle the debt of the city government.

“Kumandidato lang na alkalde, nakalimutan na lahat ang sinabing pabor kay Mayor Estrada (He just ran for Mayor, he already forgot the favorable words he said to Mayor Estrada),” the city official said.

“Sino kaya ang may Alzheimer’s disease ngayon? Ang dali mo namang makalimot napakabata mo pa! (Who has Alzheimer’s disease now? You’re still young but you have easily forgotten) ,” he ended.
