Marlon Santos, regional chief of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, identified the arrested suspects as Rainisah Lomondot Ali, 36, a public school teacher assigned at Marawi City National High School and Naira Panda, 34, who are both residents of Barangay Wato, Balindong, Lanao del Sur.

Santos said the suspects were nabbed after they agreed to sell one kilo of methamphetamine hydrochloride worth P6.8 million to a PDEA poseur-buyer near the Marawi City National High School in Barangay Saber, Marawi City.

PDEA tagged the suspects as notorious drug traffickers operating in Lanao provinces.

Santos said anti-narcotics operatives had been monitoring Ali who seconds as illegal drug trafficker aside from being a public school teacher.

Charges for selling illegal drugs will be filed against the suspects who are presently detained at the PDEA detention facility here.
