Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray will be visiting the Senate on Tuesday, February 26.
Gray is expected to pay a courtesy call to Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III as part of her homecoming celebration after winning the prestigious pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand, last December.
A short ceremony will be held in the afternoon to give her recognition for giving pride and honor to the Philippines. The Senate, last month, adopted measures congratulating and commending the Filipina beauty queen for her victory.
Sotto, who filed one of the resolutions honoring Gray, had cited that her win placed the Philippines in the fourth spot in the list of countries that have the most number of Miss Universe title holders.
Gray is the fourth Filipina to win the crown next to Gloria Diaz (1969), Margarita Moran (1973) and Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach (2015).
Aside from Sotto, Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri and Senator Nancy Binay also filed separate resolutions for Gray.
On Friday, Gray also went to the House of Representatives where a resolution was also presented to her.
