CAMP OLA, Albay – Three suspected drug pushers were killed in a buy-bust operation in Purok 7, Barangay Binitayan, Daraga town in Albay Friday night.
Senior Inspector Mayvell Gonzales, Albay Police Provincial Office (PPO) spokesman, identified the suspects as Pedrito M. Tibay, 34, alias “Mao”; Jeruth Salem N. Catubig, 37, alias “Bunker”; and Peter John Carlo T. Rima, 35, all of Barangay Binitayan, Daraga. They allegedly resisted arrested.
Initial investigation disclosed that a poseur-buyer transacted with Mao, buying P30,000 worth of shabu. Following the transaction, Mao counted the money.
At that juncture, the poseur-buyer saw one of the suspect’s companions drawing a firearm prompting him to run but he was nevertheless fired upon. The suspects missed the poseur-buyer and the backup policemen retaliated and killed the suspects.
Found at the scene were five small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with estimated market value of P150,000; the P30,000 buy-bust money; 19 pieces of 9mm Luger bullet shells; six deformed jacketed fired bullet, two caliber .357 Magnum Smith and Wesson; a caliber .357 Magnum revolver; and other drug paraphernalia.
