Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Benjamin R. Madrigal, Jr., visited the Northern Luzon Command (NoLCom) in Tarlac on Friday, February 9, 2019, to assess the advancement of their campaign and activities in connection in fulfilling the mission of the AFP.
Following the arrival honors for him, Madrigal attended a brief conference on NoLCom’s campaign efforts and gains in advancing peace and development and confronting the local communist threats in the Northern Luzon area.
Madrigal commended NoLCom for its significant accomplishment and contribution in promoting significant peace and development initiatives and sustaining a stable security environment in Northern Luzon.
He stressed the importance of the whole of nation approach in ending the local communist insurgency and addressing the various concern of people in all insurgency-affected areas in Northern Luzon.
“Let us do our duty, we share the burden of accomplishing our mission, and that every time, we must think of ways on how we can contribute in carrying out our mission. Let us help each other,” Madrigal said.
The event was also attended by all subordinate unit commanders under NoLCom and the unified command’s primary staff.
Subsequently, a short awarding ceremony was conducted in front of NoLCom Admin Building to honor and appreciate the service of several military men who have astoundingly and meritoriously performed their duties.
NoLCom said with the guidance of General Madrigal and the leadership of its Commander Lt. Gen. Emmanuel B. Salamat, the whole command will continue to strive in attaining its mission and will relentlessly execute its purpose of Advancing Peace and Development, Fighting for the people’s rights and against all threats to peace, development, and security, and protecting our sovereign territory.
