TAGBILARAN CITY – A grand welcome will greet new Miss Intercontinental Karen Gallman when she officially visits Bohol.
There is no exact date set for the homecoming, but the people of Ubay will surely roll out the red carpet for the new beauty queen just like when she last visited Bohol after she won the right to represent the Philippines in the Miss Intercontinental tilt.
Gallman was born and spent her early childhood in Ubay before migrating to Brisbane, Australia.
Last Friday, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed a resolution congratulating Gallman for her exploits as she became the first Filipina to win the Miss Intercontinental title.
Gallman won the title on pageant night last Jan. 26 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Bohol Rep. Erico Aristotle Aumentado who is a native of Ubay congratulated Gallman for winning the title.
Bohol Gov. Edgar Chatto said that Gallman’s victory makes Boholanos proud. Chatto sent his congratulatory message directly to Gallman.
The Effective Development Communications Unit of the provincial capitol said the governor has been in touch with the lady from Ubay even before the pageant night.
