The bicameral Commission on Appointments confirmed on Wednesday the appointment of General Benjamin R. Madrigal Jr., chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
The CA, during its plenary session presided by Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III, concurrent CA chairman, also confirmed the appointments of two other ranking AFP officers.
They are Lieut. General Noel S. Clement and Brigadier General Virgilio B. Bartolome.
Madrigal replaced Carlito Galvez Jr.
Rep. Seth Frederick P. Jalosjos, chairman of the CA national defense committee, said the three professional soldiers – Madrigal, Clement and Bartolome – also seek peace.
Madrigal, a native of Los Banos, Laguna has been in the government service for 37 years. He becomes the 51st AFP Chief of Staff.
