DUMAGUETE CITY – Sixty-six students from Hannam University in South Korea are in Dumaguete to study Global Business and English at Silliman University, according to the school’s Office of Information and Publications (OIP).
OIP acting director Madeline Quiamco said 42 of the students are enrolled in the Hannam-Silliman Global Business program at the College of Business Administration (CBA), and 24 are in the Intensive English program (INTEP) of the English and Literature Department.
Under the four-week Global Business Program, the students of Hannam University’s Linton School of Global Business are being taught Philippine business and culture as well as Asian economics, Quiamco said.
The annual collaborative program began on Jan. 7 and runs until the first week of February.
Now on its fourth year, this year’s program is led by Dr. Gloria Futalan, CBA dean, and Prof. Wilma Tejero, the program coordinator.
Hannam University students in the INTEP are undergoing focused instruction on the English language at the SU Language Center that runs for three weeks starting Jan. 7 and is coordinated by Prof. Jennifer Eve Solitana, SU Language Center coordinator.
