ILIGAN CITY- One active member and two NPA militias have surrendered to the military’s 51st Infantry Battalion in Brgy Rogongon.
The three also yielded two caliber pistols and ammunition to the troops of Lieutenant colonel Jasper Edward Obar, the 51st Infantry Battalion Commander.
“Based on our initial custodial debriefing, they were pressured by our troops who were relentless in combating the communists NPA terrorists in the hinterlands of Iligan City,” LTC Obar said.
Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Roseller Murillo, 1st Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Zampelan (Zamboanga Peninsula and Lanao Provinces) Commander, commended the efforts of the troops that led to the surrender of the three communist NPA terrorists.
“We encourage more NPAs to surrender and take advantage of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) of the government.” Maj. Gen. Murillo added.
