BOLINAO, Pangasinan —Mayor Arnold Celeste accompanied by officials from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Coast Guard, and police inspected Tuesday a ship fund drifting in the waters of Barangay Dewey with a crew of 15 foreigners.
Celeste inspected the Honor, said to be owned by Alex Chua, a Chinese national after receiving a report that a foreign vessel had been spotted in the waters off Barangay Dewey.
The inspection team found out that ship was carrying 3036 metric tons or the equivalent to 60,000 cavans of rice with a consignee from San Quintin.
The captain and crew of the vessel were from China, Vietnam, Mayanmar, and Indonesia.
The ship was said to have drifted after having engine trouble.
