The President said he was expanding the coverage of the public drinking ban imposed on the uniformed personnel in Davao City as he expressed concern that cops and soldiers tend to get drunk and disorderly.

“Kayong mga pulis, I am warning you, do not drink in public. Sa Davao, pinagbawalan ko ‘yan pati kayo na ngayon, all over the Philippines, you do not enter drinking places,” Duterte said during the barangay summit on peace and order in Pasay City.

“Kapag lasing na kayo ang tigas. Pati Army. ‘Wag kayong mag dala ng baril kasi itong Army pati pulis, isa rin itong. Mag-agawan ng microphone..’My Way’…Magbarilan na ang mga gago. P*** i*** [When you’re drunk, you act tough. Also the Army. Do not bring weapons because the Army and policemen tend to fight over the microphone, sing ‘My Way.’ These fools shoot it out. Son of a b*tch],” he said.

Duterte recalled that he once beat a soldier and a cop who shot each other at a local bar in Davao. He said both men landed in the hospital.

“Binugbog ko ang dalawa. Leche kayo [I punched the two. Damn you],” he added.
