The theme of Traslacion 2019 centers on the mission and service of devotees as followers of Jesus Christ, a church official said on Thursday.

Father Douglas Badong, parochial vicar of Quaipo Church announced during a press briefing that this year’s Traslacion theme is Deboto ng Poong Hesus Nazareno: Hinirang at Pinili Upang Maging Lingkod” (Isaias 49:5)

He said that the theme will try to enlighten devotees on their mission and on their responsibility as followers of Jesus Christ.

Ang paghirang at pagpili ay nasa Diyos, ang pagtugon ay nasa deboto ng Nazareno,” (To be selected and to be chosen entails a responsibility and mission. God choses and selects while the response will come from the devotee), he said.

We will try reflection, Catechism and even the mass during vigil to help the devotees understand why they are devotees, why they are here and why they remain faithful), the church official said.

This is a calling from the Black Nazarene, not to be recognized or to be famous but only to serve), he added.

Badong also said that the logo of this year’s Traslacion is patterned after the logo of the priests.
