COTABATO CITY- Government anti-narcotics operatives busted a big-time drug syndicate operating in this city and in Maguindanao province, following the arrest of a drug ring member who yielded a kilo of shabu worth P6.8 million in a drug bust operation here last Thursday.
Juvenal Azurin, regional director of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA ARMM), identified the arrested suspect as Mamintal Luminog,43, and a resident of Barangay Rosary Heights here.
He was nabbed in an entrapment operation conducted on Don Roman Vilo St., Barangay Poblacion 6, this city.
He said PDEA agents, backed by police operatives and soldiers, pounced on the suspect after he agreed to sell one kilogram of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu to an undercover agent.
PDEA tagged Luminog as a notorious drug trafficker belonging to a big-time drug group operating in the city and nearby Maguindanao province.
A suspect’s cohort identified as alias ‘Tani’ managed to elude arrest.
PDEA had filed charges for selling illegal drugs against Luminog who is presently detained at the PDEA detention facility here.
