The United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) has fielded its first senatorial candidate for the May 2019 midterm polls.
Danilo Roleda, the current deputy secretary general of UNA, filed his COC Thursday accompanied by Senator Nancy Binay who is seeking reelection but has yet to file her COC.
In his speech, Roleda said he is running together with Binay under UNA.
“We are ready. We are prepared. I am running to become a public servant with the title of senator because that is a job that describes what I want to do. And with God’s help and with the support of the people we will make it in order to do what is the best for the country and for the Filipino people,” he said.
According to Roleda, he is running under UNA because it is “pro-God, pro-life.”
“And we are for all Filipinos regardless of color, religion and belief. We want to serve the entire county as your servant in order to promote peace, harmony, progress, economic development and sustainability,” he said.
“In this election, I am not the only candidate. Every Filipino voter is a candidate because this is for the future of our betterment for a strong and solid foundation,” added Roleda.
“I ask for all your prayers and the Filipino people. This is our fight,” he said.
Binay is expected to file her COC on Friday, October 12.
