Three senatorial aspirants under the Katipunan ng Demokratikong Pilipino (KDP) urged Filipino voters to try electing “new faces” in office in the May, 2019 National and Local Elections.
The senatorial candidates under KDP, who filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) on Thursday, were Vince Avena, Princess Nur Ana Sahidulla, and Butch Valdes.
“Kung gusto natin ng pagbabago, isa lang kailangan gawin actually, baguhin ang mga leader ng bansa natin. Stop electing the same people over and over again. The country needs new leader, new blood, new ideas (If we want change, there is one thing that we need to do — that is to change our (current) leaders. Stop electing the same people over and over again. The country needs new leaders, new blood, new ideas),” said Avena.
Avena said that their party will “stand up for the Filipino family” and “abhors traditional politics.”
“I would like to invite my fellow Filipinos to join us in KDP, bring your ideas, let us stand together… we can make a change. If you believe that the Philippines can do better, we deserve better, better that what we have right now,” he added.
The wife of former chief justice Renato Corona, Cristina, showed her support for the three candidates.
