A parking attendant was killed in a hit and run incident in Tomas Morato, Quezon City on Tuesday.
The 50-year old Celso Calacat, a resident of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, was crossing the street when a BMW sedan vehicle passed and hit the victim around 12:30 am along Scout Funtebella street, reports said.
Investigators of the Quezon City Police District Traffic Enforcement Unit identified the suspect as Ed Christopher Go, 29, a board member of Isabela Provincial Capitol.
Police report showed that Go was driving his BMW Sedan with plate number 27773 along Tomas Morato Avenue towards Scout Rallos Street around 12:30 a.m.
Meanwhile, concerned netizen Leslie Dehghan uploaded a video on Facebook.
Deghan, who was outside a bar with her friends when the incident happened, said the victim was working, when a speeding car hit him, sending him to the next corner of the street from his spot.
In the video, it can be seen that two bypassers, who introduced themselves as a nurse and a radiologic technologist, were giving a CPR to the victim.
Calacat was then brought to the Capitol Medical Center, but was pronounced dead a few minutes later.
She also added that the suspect tried to flee twice, but the police eventually caught him.
QCPD traffic sector 4 PCO3 Joel Avizo said the suspect underwent an alcohol test and was tested positive.
Police said the suspect will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property with homicide. (With a report from Alexandria San Juan)
