President Duterte was so annoyed with the interference of some foreigners in the country’s affairs that he has offered them as a “live human target” to the military.
The President made the suggestion in jest after vowing he would only accept criticisms from Filipinos, not foreigners.
“Kaya sige lang, balang araw ‘pag naubusan kayo ng target at gusto ninyo ng live fire pati live human target, makapagdala lang ako ng tatlo niyan, makita mo ‘yan eh puro puti,” Duterte said during a visit to a military camp in Tarlac, drawing laughter from the soldiers.
“Bwisit,” said Duterte who has been criticized here and abroad for the alleged abuses linked to his bloody war on illegal drugs.
Unfazed by attacks from foreign critics and probe by the International Criminal Court, Duterte said he would “only bow to the Filipino people,” and would “not bow to anybody.”
“I can accept the criticism of the NPA, Abu Sayyaf, ‘yung vendor diyan, ‘yung holdupper diyan. If he’s not contented with my performance, they have every duty to be angry at me. Sila ‘yung bumoto sa akin,” he said.
“If I fell short, then as a Filipino, that is your right to criticize and even slam me if you want. I would never, never take it against you. Pero kung itong mga puti, itong mga g*** na ito, magpunta dito, maghanap ng kasalanan natin,” he added.
Duterte said extrajudicial killing could not even be found in the country’s revised penal code.
“Hindi ko nga alam kung ano ‘yang extrajudicial killing. Eh wala ‘yan sa Revised Penal Code,” he added.
