A Swedish national has been arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for threatening to release the nude photos of his ex-girlfriend unless he gets P100,000 from the victim.
NBI Director Dante Gierran identified the suspect as Michael William Ryan Thierry Fischer Lagarde, who introduced himself as a former marine and defense contractor.
Gierran said Lagarde was arrested last September 5 in an entrapment operation conducted by the NBI’s Special Action Unit (NBI-SAU) at a mall in Taguig City.
The arrest was made based on the complaint of Lagarde’s former Filipina girlfriend, who claimed he had threatened to release her nude photos in public unless she gives him P100,000.
She told the NBI that they were in a relationship for two years, during which he had been taking money from her and charging large sums to her credit cards and ATM account.
The complainant broke up with Lagarde last June after learning that he had been lying to her and that he had been convicted multiple times for fraud in Sweden and had victimized other women.
The complainant said she found out that Lagarde had used the same modus operandi on her as with his other female victims in Sweden.
