Caritas Manila, the social action arm of the Archdiocese of Manila, is appealing to the faithful for prayers and donations for the survivors and victims of typhoon ‘Ompong’ (international name ‘Mangkhut’) that brought heavy rains and strong winds over the weekend to the different provinces in Luzon particularly in Cagayan and Isabela.
Donations may be in cash and in kind. Caritas Manila said food items that are badly needed include noodles, canned goods, dried fish, ready-to-eat items, and those that are easy to prepare or cook. Non-food items such as water, hygiene kits, sleeping mats, blankets, towels, clothes, and new underwear may also be donated.
Cash donations which will be used for shelter materials and house repairs may be deposited at the following bank accounts: Account Name: Caritas Manila, Inc.; BDO S/A: 5600-45905; BPI S/A: 3063-5357-01; Metrobank S/A: 175-3-175069543; or at any Cebuana Lhuiller branch.
Donations may also be dropped off at the Caritas Manila office on 2002 Jesus St. Pandacan, Manila.
