Three lanes on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City will be closed to vehicular traffic starting 11 p.m. on Saturday, and will only passable on Sunday at 12 noon.
Jose Arturo Garcia, general manager of Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), said motorists must take alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
“Three of the six lanes of Commonwealth will be closed because an important excavation for the MRT 7 project will be executed there,” he said.
Meanwhile, he said the three lanes, which are Fairview-bound traffic, will be available.
The construction is scheduled during the time when traffic volume is not high, the MMDA said.
The builders, the Garcia said, has assured the agency that at 12 noon on Sunday, the three lanes will also be passable.
Garcia stressed that such projects will benefit the public once accomplished as he asked for their understanding.
