Rody: VP Leni is good

Almost a month after unleashing his harshest remark on Vice President Leni Robredo, President Duterte recently said that she is a good government official.

Duterte made the comment almost a month after he said he will not resign to make way for an incompetent Robredo.

“If you are careless, maybe you want a new President. She’s also good. No problem about that. Every Filipino is always good,” Duterte said regarding his precarious flight arrangements when he visited Bukidnon last Friday.

“I don’t even think that I can go home by the choppers that we use. It’s what you would call an overcast everywhere. We were late for about an hour, more than even. Naghintay pa rin kami pag-landing (We even had to wait still before we could land). We could not find the exact place actually,” he added during his Bukidnon speaking engagement.

Last month, Duterte said Robredo is incompetent and will not be ready to lead a country, after the Vice President declared that she will take on the role of leading the opposition.

Malacañang promptly defended the President, saying there was no malice in Duterte’s statement as it was just an observation of someone with extensive government service experience.
