Druggie dies in shootout
An alleged drug pusher was killed in a shootout with undercover agents during a buy-bust operation in Caloocan City Sunday night, police said.
Case investigator PO1 Bengie Nalogoc said the suspect identified only as “Makmak,” died on the spot.
Anti-narcotics operatives led by Sr. inspector John David Chua hatched a buy-bust operation after confirming Makmak’s involvement in the illegal drug trade.
Makmak arrived at the meeting place along Centros Street in Barangay 63 around 11 p.m.
However, Makmak fired shots after he sensed that he was transacting with an undercover cop.
Back-up operatives returned fire, hitting Makmak in his body.

Construction worker killed
The body of a construction worker believed to have been killed by his co-worker was discovered Sunday afternoon in Las Piñas City.
The victim was identified as certain Leo.
The police said that the victim had severe head injuries, causing his death.
The suspect identified only as Lito is now being hunted by the police.
According to the city police chief, Sr. Supt. Marion Balonglong, the body of the victim was discovered at about 5:00 p.m. by his co-worker identified as Limuel Basbas at their construction site located along Molave and Guijo Sts., 2nd Reyville Verdant Subdivision, Brgy. Pamplona 3, Las Piñas City.
Balonglong said that prior to the discovery of the body, Basbas claimed that he was conducting check around their construction site when he noticed the bloodied body of the victim sprawled along the floor.
The incident was immediately reported by Basbas to his employer who in turn called the police.
The police are now looking for the whereabouts of Leo who was said to have a heated argument with the victim. (Jean Fernando)
