PALO, Leyte — The Department of Public and Highways (DPWH) in Eastern Visayas has awarded the DPWH First Leyte Engineering District Office based in Barangay Pawing here for its outstanding financial management performance and top ranking among the 13 district engineering offices in terms of projects implementation.
DPWH Eastern Visayas Regional Director Edgar Tabacon handed down two certificates of awards to DPWH First Leyte District Engineer Johnny M. Acosta during the DPWH Regional Staff Conference held in a Tacloban City hotel the other day.
Director Tabacon cited District Engineer Acosta for being ranked 1 for exceeding on obligation and allotment, disbursement and allocation, notice of cash allotment (NCA) utilization, and notice of cash allotment utilization for March 31, 2018.
Acosta told Manila Bulletin that it is their second year of being awarded as regional top performer.
He said his constant dialogue with the private contractors, stakeholders, and close coordination with his division chiefs and staff and personnel are the factors behind their top performance.
Acosta personally inspects the implementation of various infrastructure projects in his area of jurisdiction even at night time with Construction Chief Engr. Ray P. Mate and talks to the private contractors to comply with the installation of traffic signs and early warning devices to avoid accidents on the project site and finish their work as scheduled.
Acosta said they are implementing their projects on time in compliance with the directive of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar to complete the projects as scheduled.
