Feast masses will be celebrated at 6 a.m., 7 a.m., 10 a.m., and at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Poblacion, Makati City, in solemn commemoration of the joint feast day of the pillars of the Catholic Church – Saints Peter and Paul, traditionally celebrated by the Roman Catholic Church as Pope’s Day.

Novena masses were held from June 20 to 28. Church rites today will include prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father Pope Francis.

“The observance of Pope’s Day in celebration of the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul seeks to intensify the faithful’s understanding of the Church’s teachings and to have full appreciation of the spiritual leadership of the Catholic Church’s leader and Vicar of Christ,” Church officials said.

Saint Peter was the first Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church, while Saint Paul is considered to this day as the greatest missionary of all time.
