TACLOBAN CITY – The parade of the Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival of Festivals, the biggest cultural extravaganza in Eastern Visayas’ on Wednesday impressed the spectators as it passed along the major thoroughfares of this city.
Palo, Leyte Mayor Remedios L. Petilla and the concurrent chairperson for the event, told Manila Bulletin that the parade of the Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival of Festivals which is celebrating its 23rd year while the Pintados on its 32nd year this 2018 was participated in by 5 contingents from Leyte and Samar.
Mayor Petilla identified the participating festivals as: Heraite Festival of Leyte town; Buraburon Festival of Burauen; Tribu Pasaka Festival of Tanauan; Sanggutan Festival of Barugo; and Solosogi Festival of Balangiga, Eastern Samar.
Petilla said that the participants as they danced along the streets with their colorful costumes and the music parade attracted the viewers lined up along the major thoroughfares.
The parade is one of the events that brings together cultural performances that ushers to the Tacloban City and highlight the fiesta celebrations this coming June 30.
Petilla said Pintados-Kasadyaan festival of festivals promotes the rich cultural heritage of Eastern Visayas, and the parade ushers the Tacloban City fiesta that will be held on June 30.
Petilla said that the parade was orderly and peaceful with the security enforced by the police officers from this city, Leyte Police Provincial Office and from the Eastern Visayas Regional Police Office.
