GUMACA, Quezon — A suspected drug dealer in Quezon was killed when he resisted police officers serving arrest warrants, Tuesday evening at Barangay Progreso, here.
Quezon Police Provincial Office (QPPO) identified the suspect as Alberto Billy Lee, 58, married, jobless, and resident of Brgy. Ibabang Iyam in Lucena City.
Reports said that at about 7:30 p.m. Gumaca Police led by Sr.Insp. San Juan Felmor Aquino and elements of Provincial intelligence Branch arrived to serve two warrants of arrest all for Violation of R.A. 9165 against the suspect.
The suspect was in front of his rented house when he noticed the approaching policemen.
At that juncture, the suspect ran inside his house and got his caliber .45 pistol and at once opened fire towards the lawmen.
The police operatives managed to seek cover and were able to retaliate and hit the suspect on his chest, while the suspect’s unidentified cohort managed to run away and is now the target of police manhunt operation.
Police recovered from the scene a caliber .45 pistol Colt 1911 magazine with three .45 caliber live ammunition, an empty cartridge .45 caliber, deformed slug, three metal fragments and 11 sachets of shabu.
