Two suspected robbers were gunned down in an encounter with the police on Wednesday in Sampaloc, Manila.
One of the suspects died on the spot after sustaining several gunshot wounds to the body, Supt. Andrew Aguirre said.
The other suspect was rushed to the Ospital ng Sampaloc where he was declared dead-on-arrival by attending physicians.
A woman, who was victimized by the still unidentified duo, sought assistance from patrolling police officers who caught up with the suspects along Ramon Magsaysay Avenue.
The two men reportedly resisted arrest and triggered the gun battle.
The police recovered the woman’s bag from the scene of the shootout.
