BAGAC, Bataan- The renowned Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar heritage resort, a major tourist attraction of this municipality, is now actively tapping the international tourist market.
Erwin Doña III, Marketing Director of Las Casas, said that they are now making moves to attract visitors from Japan, China, Korea and other countries.
“Although our guest rooms are almost fully occupied by local customers coming from various provinces and cities, the Las Casas management is now also targeting foreign costumers and going globally,” said Doña.
To further drum up interest in the heritage resort, Las Casas recently staged the Lakambini ng Las Casas beauty pageant to promote the beautiful and talented young women of Bataan and the province’s rich culture and history.
Doña said the beauty pageant program was patterned after the first ever Manila carnival in 1908, where two queens, Reina del Occidente and Reina del Oriente were crowned.
“This is historical as we are tracing and adopting our cultures in the historic past,” pointed out Doña.
Trisha Martinez, a dentistry student of the University of the East, was crowned as Las Casas Lakambini 2018.
