Angered man stabs co-worker

A driver was stabbed to death by his angered co-worker who resented being called a womanizerWednesday night in Pasay City.

The victim was identified as Rodel Francisco, 36, a resident of Constellation St., Barangay 189. Pasay City. Francisco was pronounced dead on arrival at the San Juan De Dios Hospital due to multiple stab wounds.

The suspect identified as Gero De Asis, 32, is now under the custody of the Pasay City Police.

Investigation showed that prior to the incident, the two had an argument when Francisco allegedly bullied the suspect, calling him a womanizer.

Their argument escalated into fistfight, after which the suspect took a kitchen knife and used it to stab the victim, hitting him in the back and the right shoulder.

The wounded Francisco was able to escape but was chased by the enraged De Asis. He was eventually cornered at Twin Pioneer Street, where he was continuously stabbed by the suspect.

De Asis tried to flee, but an irate crowd of concerned residents mobbed him leading to his arrest. Police were able to recover the eight-inch kitchen knife from his possession while the victim was rushed to the nearest hospital where he later died.

Appropriate charges will be filed against the suspect with the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office. (Glendel Nazario)
