LUCBAN, Quezon — A bus driver is now being hunted by police after figuring in a hit-and-run incident that left three motorcycle riders dead in the middle of the road in Barangay Aliliw, this town, Friday night.
Police said the head-on collision between the bus and the motorcycle resulted in the killing of Michael Gaytano, 31, driver of the motorcycle; and his back-riders Dennis Rotaquio, 28; and Rosauro Abcede, 47.
Senior Superintendent Rhoderick Armamento, Quezon Police Provincial Office (PPO) director, said the incident happened about 7:30 p.m. Friday when the DLTB Co. bus (AAX-1626) bound for Sampaloc, Quezon from Makati City veered to the opposite lane and rammed into the victims.
A witness told probers that the bus evaded a truck parked on its lane, so it veered to the left and collided head-on with the oncoming motorcycle.
Armamento identified the driver of the bus as Miguel Urgelles, a resident of Sampaloc, Quezon, who is now being hunted by police for having abandoned the victims on the road.
