Portions of six major roads in Quezon City and Taguig will be closed to traffic over the weekend due to road works, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced Friday.
According to DPWH-National Capital Region Director Melvin Navarro, reblocking and repair works will be conducted from Friday night until Monday morning.
The affected roads in Quezon City, according to Navarro, include the northbound direction of Quirino Highway from Pagkabuhay Road to Kingspoint, inner lane; Congressional Avenue from San Beda Road to Visayas Avenue, first lane; Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) fronting Shell Gas Station to Oliveros Street, fourth lane; and A. Bonifacio Avenue, from Del Monte Street going to Mauban Street, outer lane.
Also included is the southbound direction of A. Bonifacio Avenue crossing Sgt. Rivera, inner lane and Visayas Avenue, in front of Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), outer lane.
Southbound direction of C5-Road in Taguig City from K00015+000 to K0014+(370) will also undergo road repair works.
Motorists are advised to use possible alternate routes due to traffic slowdown in the affected areas.
Navarro said DPWH will use one-day concrete mix in order to open the affected roads at 5 a.m. Monday.
