Cebu City – The Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) Terminal 2 is now 91 percent complete, according to GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation (GMCAC) Chief Executive Adviser Andrew Harrison.
As such, GMCAC has officially started the countdown for the opening of the new terminal which is scheduled to be commissioned in June.
The countdown for the Terminal 2 (T2) opening started with the event, dubbed “The Final Countdown,” which was held at Lounge 26 of MCIA Monday afternoon.
Present during the event were Lapu lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza, Cebu City Councilor Joel Garganera, MCIAA General manager Steve Dicdican, Department of Tourism (DOT-7) Regional Director Shalimar Tamano, MCIAA Board Members, GMCAC President Louie Ferrer, stakeholders, and members of the airport community.
Ferrer said that they were hoping the T2 grand opening on June 6 will be graced by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and foreign dignitaries.
The three-story T2 will be able to accommodate 4.5 million passengers annually.
“Experience the Warmth of Cebu,” the new brand identity of MCIA, was also unveiled by GMCAC.
