Maasin City Coastal Bypass Road, once completed, will connect Barangay Lib-og of Maasin City to Barangay Mambajao, and bypassing the city road by traversing the coastal areas of barangays Abgao, Tunga-Tunga, and Combado.
According to Junia, a total of P5.7 million was allocated for the study of Maasin City Coastal Bypass Road Project which is being fast tracked for implementation.
“City Coastal Bypass Road will soon be published as we aim to immediately commence construction activities soon,” Junia said.
Phase 1 of the bypass road project, the regional chief said, received an allocation of P50 million in 2018 General Appropriations Act, saying it is among the priority projects for Eastern Visayas Region.
When completed, it is expected to support the economic development of Southern Leyte, particularly the areas that will be traversed by the project, Junia added.
