“We believe that the Philippines is the Swiss banking equivalent of the outsourcing industry, and we want people in the Western countries to know that outsourcing their business needs is one of the wisest decisions they can make,” said Derek Gallimore, founder of Outsource Accelerator. The company is an independent source of information, education, and advisory for outsourcing in the Philippines.

Entrants must write an article that educates and informs SMEs about the benefits of outsourcing, how easy it is to start, and why they should choose the Philippines for their outsourcing needs.

The competition is open to all office-based employees, independent contractors, and remote workers from the BPO sector.

However, those who do not work in the BPO industry may still join; they only need to secure the approval of the BPO company they will be writing about.

There is also no limit to the number of article submissions per participant.

The grand cash prize is currently P200,000, but this amount will continue to go up as more entries are received. The prize money will be awarded to the winner through Payoneer, a cross-border payments company whose growth was largely influenced by the local freelancing and online outsourcing market.

To join, the participant must first create an account in Outsource Accelerator and complete their profile.

The articles should be at least 400 words long, and may contain photos, infographics, and videos, among other media.

The ultimate goal of the competition is to generate valuable content for the reference of decision makers of small and medium businesses and enterprises (SMB/SME).

“There are more than 35 million SMEs in the Western countries, so just imagine the economical impact if even just a fraction of them outsource their needs here in the Philippines,” Gallimore said. “Hopefully, the articles that will be generated through The Source will convince these business owners that outsourcing is a good opportunity for them and that the Philippines is the best country to provide it,” he added.

“The Source: Article Competition” aims to provide a hub of high-quality content that will not only promote the rich talent base, affordable labor costs, and technological savvy of the Philippines when it comes to business process outsourcing, but also to establish the reputation of the country as the best outsourcing destination in the world.

The Competition officially opens on Feb. 25, although entries may also be submitted ahead of time. The deadline of submission of entries is on March 24, 2018, while the winners will be announced on April 4, 2018.

Winners will be chosen based on the overall article quality, along with the numbers of likes and shares received through the social widget on the website. For more details, visit https://outsourceaccelerator.com/bpo.
