Tropical Depression “Basyang’’ which is now a low pressure area (LPA) was spotted at about 240 kilometers south southeast of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on Thursday morning.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the tail-end of a cold front will be affecting the eastern section of southern Luzon while the northeast monsoon will be affecting extreme northern Luzon.
According to the state weather bureau, Palawan will experience cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the LPA.
Pagasa also said the tail end of the cold front is expected to bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Bicol region and the provinces of Samar and Quezon.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains will prevail in Batanes and Calayan group of islands due to the northeast monsoon, Pagasa added.
Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
