Cainta, Rizal — The local government here is offering a reward of P100,000 for any information leading to the arrest of a wanted criminal who engaged responding policemen in a shootout last Sunday, killing the town’s second ranking police official here.
Municipal Information Officer Aldrin de Leon said Mayor Keith Nieto has offered the monetary reward to help authorities locate prime suspect, Ruben Gomez, who is tagged by police as a wanted man for series of robbery, illegal drugs and firearms distribution.
Killed in the shooting incident in Barangay San Andres Sunday night was Senior Inspector Jimmy Senosin, the deputy chief of police in this city who was responding to a distress call from a concerned citizen claiming that an armed man was seen roaming in the area.
Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman, confirmed that Gomez, alias “Ruben Tae,” 38, was included in the drugs watch list of Barangay San Andres in Cainta.
Meanwhile, the other suspect has been identified as an alias “Ekis.”
Both Gomez and Ekis have been tagged by police as members of the Highway Boys, a group involved in robbery-hold-up and snatching in Cainta and EDSA in Metro Manila.
