Police are tracking down the man who walked into an eatery in Sampaloc, Manila, and shot a 48-year-old bus driver Saturday.
Guillardo Balaan, a driver of Florida Bus, and a native of Daramuangan Norte, San Mateo Isabela, was declared dead on arrival at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital after being shot twice in the neck.
Police said Balaan was buying food inside Aldrin’s Carinderia on A.H. Lacson Street. He was reportedly getting a beverage from a refrigerator when a man in a cream jacket, ball cap, and short pants, walked toward him.
The man then pulled out a gun and shot Balaan at point-blank range.
Police said Balaan was then preparing for his scheduled trip up north when the incident happened.
Investigators said that they have yet to determine the motive behind the attack and they are now reviewing the closed circuit television footage of the eatery to shed more light on the case.
Balaan’s body was brought to the Archangel Funeral Homes for an autopsy and safekeeping.
