Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – The regional command of Northeastern Mindanao Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) on Sunday reported that 1,992 drug dealers and pushers were arrested in two years of intensified anti-illegal drug operations in various parts of the five provinces and six cities in Caraga region.
PRO 13 Regional Director Chief Supt. Noli A. Romana told The Manila Bulletin on Sunday that these alleged drug dealers and pushers were arrested and jailed by police operatives from January 2016 to December 2017 in line with the massive crackdown against illegal drugs in various parts of the region.
He said PRO 13 has already filed 1,505 cases in various courts region wide for the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, while 24 cases were dismissed due to the procedural irregularities, failure to attend hearing and lack of interest of complainant while some cases have progressed.
In the same period, a total of 6,824.29 grams of shabu with Dangerous Drug Board value of R80,523,633.8 and R45,718,188.4 worth of marijuana were confiscated by police operatives, the region’s police chief said.
“PRO 13, with partner agencies will continuously conduct pro-active measures and intensify its effort to wipe out all forms of illegal drug activities for a drug-free Caraga,” Chief Supt. Romana disclosed to Manila Bulletin.
