By Mike U. Crismundo

Butuan – The regional command of Northeastern Mindanao Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) mobilized all available manpower and resources to ensure order and security during the Kahimunan Festival, which fires off tomorrow here.

Police contingents with K9 teams, soldiers and force multipliers were already mobilized to augment the forces of Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) in an effort to have a peaceful and orderly celebration of the 2018 Kahimunan Festival.

“Our deployed police forces will not only help maintain peace and order but also assist the BCPO and the city’s Land Transportation and Traffic Management Office (LTTMO) in the rerouting scheme implemented for the said activity,” PRO 13 spokesperson Chief Insp. Renel E. Serrano, on Friday, said.

He said PRO 13 Regional Director Chief Supt. Noli A. Romana already ordered field commanders to help ensure the success of the first big event in Caraga region this year.

Personnel from PRO 13 Regional Headquarters, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13, National Support Units, 23rd Infantry Battallion, Philippine Army, Butuan City Police Office and other stakeholders have been closely coordinating in laying down the security preparation to maintain peace and order during the observance of the Sto Niño feast.

Six-hundred fifty police personnel will be directly involved in ensuring security within the area of activity of the Kahimunan, the regional police spokesperson added.
