Butuan City – The bodies of two farmers, who went missing Wednesday during a beach outing, have been found in the waters off Purok 4, Sitio Pugad, Barangay Payasan, in Lianga town, Surigao del Sur, a progress report reaching the police regional headquarters here on Friday stated.
In his report to Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) headquarters here, Lianga Municipal Police Station (MPS), identified the victims as Alvin G. Almosera, 19 and Roland C. Lagata, 34, both farmers and residents of Purok-4, Barangay Santiago, San Luis, Agusan del Sur.
The report added the two victims have been positively identified by their relatives.
Their bodies were reportedly discovered by a concerned citizen Wednesday night.
Rescue teams from the Lianga MPS and LGU-Lianga Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (DRRMC) immediately responded to retrieve the bodies, which they brought to the Lianga District Hospital for post mortem examination.
Almosera and Lagata were with four friends when they were all swept away to sea while swimming off the shores of Payasan, Lianga last Wednesday afternoon.
Three of their companions drowned and died, while another survived and was rescued.
