San Pablo City, Laguna — The principal suspect in the killing of a 63-year-old pensioner in this city last December 8 was arrested recently in a follow-up operation by elements of the Laguna Police Provincial Office (PPO) in Antipolo City, Rizal.
Senior Superintendent Cecilio Isor Jr., Laguna PPO director, identified the suspect as Mico Clores, 18, single, a helper and resident of Barangay San Lucas 1, this city.
Isor said that prior to his arrest, Clores was caught in closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage scaling the wall of the residence of the victim, Julieta Planillo, in Barangay San Lucas 2, here, hours before her body was found with stab wounds in the chest and shoulder.
The team that arrested Clores last Thursday at the house of his aunt in Barangay Cupang, Antipolo City searched the premises and found his pants stained with blood believed belonging to the victim, probers said.
During questioning by the arresting team led by Supt. Gil Torralba, Clores allegedly admitted that he knew that victim and the he had stabbed her due to anger.
Torralba said a murder charge has been filed against Clores before the San Pablo City Prosecutor’s Office.
