A tricycle driver died after he was mauled by his fellow tricycle driver who he tried to pacify in an altercation with another driver in Caloocan City on Wednesday night.
Case investigator PO 1 Jimmy Martesano said that Joseph Arcega, 52, died after he was mauled by Abiger Cruz, 35. They are both residents of Stotsenburg, Caloocan City.
Initial investigation showed that Arcega tried to pacify Cruz for allegedly starting an argument with another tricycle driver identified as Jerry Ramos, 51, along Florencia Street around 8 p.m.
Ramos said Cruz got irked after he did not give him a ride while walking on his way to their terminal.
Barangay officials then brought the tricycle drivers to the barangay hall where Arcega suddenly fainted and was then brought to Caloocan City Medical Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, police are now hunting down Cruz who managed to escape.
Relatives of the victim said that Arcega and Cruz had a previous argument after Arcega became a witness regarding a previous alarm and scandal case of Cruz in their barangay.
