Imus, Cavite — The Christmas countdown in this historical capital kicked off with colorful flashing lights adorning a giant Christmas tree and lanterns and the presentation of other colorful displays at the sprawling city plaza and the local government center.
Imus along with neighboring Bacoor and Dasmariñas are well-known for their colorful, interesting Christrmas season festivities. Dasmariñas celebrates Christmas and their foundation day through the ‘Paru-Paru’ (butterfly) Festival. Imus is known for its colorful lanterns, lights, and nativity scenes (belen).
Last December 4, Mayor Emmanuel L. Maliksi, 3rd Dist. Rep. Alex Advincula, Vice Mayor Arnel M. Catimbuhan and the council members officially opened the ‘Paskukan sa Imus’ (Christmas in Imus) program with the ceremonial lighting of the 35-feet Christmas tree.
