Catbalogan City – More than 700 leaders from Samar and Northern Samar provinces have officially joined the administration party, PDP-Laban, after completing the basic membership seminar Sunday here.
PDP-Laban Regional President Marjorie R. Jaramilla welcomed the new members to the party, which is being strengthened in preparation for the shift to federal form of government being espoused by President Duterte and Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III.
Jaramilla said Catbalogan Mayor Step Uy-Tan led city councilors, barangay and town officials from municipalities in the two provinces in moving over to the PDP-Laban.
During the seminar, National Education Chair Rufina Arcega briefed the new members on the party’s history, its five principles and other programs.
Arcega said the party will lead the campaign for a federal form of government and reiterate its support for the President’s anti-corruption crusade.
Tan thanked the Duterte administration for the development projects the city government has received such as the development of the city airport and seaport.
Also present at the seminar were PDP-Laban Regional Officers Alan Tanjuakio, Fritz Salazar, Richard De Jesus, Samar PDP-Laban President Martin Durmiendo, Northern Samar PDP President Evan Rebadulla, Catbalogan PDP-Laban Vice President Benny Malinao, former Julita, Leyte, Mayor Irvin Dy, Dagami, Leyte, Councilor Jenny Bardillion and former Leyte Provincial Jail Warden Homobono Bardillion, former Dagami, Leyte Councilor Louie Sudario and Mae Lucero.
