“There’s a new way to explore the Walled City after the Intramuros Administration officially unveiled 10 spruced-up and tourist-friendly pedicabs,” the Department of Tourism (DOT) said in a statement.

As part of the 2017 #DesignWeekPH initiave, the Department of Trade and Industry’s Design Center of the Philippines dressed up the pedicabs with tarp roofs that were inspired by the Walled City’s Seven Gates.

The pedicabs were also painted using the colors of the Intramuros Administration.

“The Department of Tourism provided training for the first drivers on tour guiding, courtesy, road safety and how to attend to the needs of the public,” the DOT said.

Meanwhile, the project aims to include pedicabs from the five barangays in Intramuros.

“The project aims to include 50 such pedicabs from the five barangays within Intramuros,” it stated.
