2 jeepney drivers shot dead in Marikina
Two jeepney drivers were shot to death by still unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen in Marikina City on Saturday, a belated report said.
Police identified the victims as Candido Siarot, and Roberto Cadacio. Both are residents of Cupang, Antipolo City.
Investigation showed that at about 12:34 a.m., Siarot and Cadacio were attacked by two armed men while they were busy fixing a jeepney on Panorama St. in Barangay Concepcion Dos.
Witnesses said that the two men suddenly appeared. They then pulled out their guns and shot the two jeepney drivers.
The gunmen immediately fled aboard the motorcycle after the incident. They brought their weapons with them.
Siarot and Cadacio died on the spot due to the fatal gunshot wounds they sustained, probers said.
Just hours before the incident, police learned that the two victims had an argument with a certain “Romy” who was reportedly a former member of PASMAJODAI (a jeepney operators and drivers’ organization). (Jel Santos)
Man whacked dead with barbell in Caloocan
A fist fight went bloody when a man was killed after his head was beaten by his drinking buddy using a 15-kilogram improvised barbell in Caloocan City the other day.
Police Officer 1 Gianvincenni Laguitao, investigator on case, said Dominador Dizon was killed by Allan Besana. Both were working as contruction workers.
Initial investigation showed that Dizon and Besana had a heated argument during their drinking spree inside a construction site along Bern Street, Vista Verde Subdivision, Barangay 167, Caloocan City around 11:30 p.m.
The argument led to a fist fight, police said.
However, a witness told investigators that Besana for an unknown reason, suddenly beat Dizon’s head three times using a 15-kilogram improvised barbell.
Besana then fled, reports said.
Dizon was brought to Acebedo General Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. (Kate Louise Javier)
Police hunt father who stabbed dead his son’s foe
A father who took revenge and stabbed to death a man mauled by his son in Barangay Baesa, Quezon City Saturday night.
Investigators from the Quezon City Police District identified the man as Jojit Iroma, 25, who succumbed to critical stab wounds in his body before reaching the hospital.
According to a witness, he was walking home at around 11:30 p.m. when he saw a gang of around five men led by Alan Cañarez mauling Iroma.
At the middle of the fight, Iroma managed to got hold of a bladed weapon to stab Cañarez once in his body.
However, Cañarez’s father, Adan, upon knowing that his son was stabbed, went to the area while armed with a bladed weapon and stabbed Iroma.
Elder Cañarez fled the scene taking with him the weapon used while his son was brought to a nearby hospital where he is undergoing treatment. (Alexandria Dennise San Juan)
