Lapu-Lapu City – The Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) has again made the list of the 25 best airports in Asia.
The latest survey released by the travel guide and review website “The Guide to Sleeping in Airports” (TGSA) showed that MCIA ranked 13th this year, up a notch from last year.
In 2015, the country’s second busiest airport was in 18th place.
“For MCIA’s transformation to be continuously recognized by travelers is a great compliment… (it) is (also) a good indicator that we are on the right track as a developer,” said GMR-Megawide Cebu Airport Corp. (GMCAC) President Louie Ferrer said in a statement.
Other provincial airports in the Philippines that made it to this year’s top 25 were the Iloilo International Airport (12th), Francisco Bangoy International Airport in Davao (17th) and Clark International Airport (22nd).
Singapore’s Changi International Airport was topped the list, followed by Seoul’s Incheon International Airport, Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport, Hong Kong International Airport and Tokyo’s Narita International Airport.
Ferrer said he looks forward to GMCAC further increasing the airport’s connectivity through destination marketing.
